Foundation, has completed extensive research to find out the most popular beauty advent calendars, based on sales, as well as searches on Google.
Unsurprisingly, MAC Cosmetics’ first ever beauty advent calendar, takes the top place as the most popular beauty advent calendar for 2021, appearing in almost 10,000 searches this month in the UK alone.
The MAC calendar is not to be missed and is filled with iconic beauty and skincare essentials worth £340, but retails for a fraction of the price at £135 – but it’s selling fast.

Next up, Jo Malone’s unmissable annual beauty advent calendar has been searched for on average 8,600 times, while Charlotte Tilbury’s Advent Calendar is the third most desired festive countdown and appeared in over 6,000 searches.
Luxury beauty brand Rituals is another firm favourite, which is no surprise as every year they have a selection of beauty advent calendars.
This year Rituals has dropped the The Ritual of Advent 24 Days of Merry Moments, as well as the Deluxe 3D version, both of which have already sold out.
High street retailers, Benefit and M&S are all in the top 10 most popular beauty advent calendars, while Lush, Elemis and Soap and Glory follow close behind.
It’s safe to say advent calendars have come a long way over the years, however this year there has seen and even bigger rise in searches for beauty advent calendars.
Olivia Alcorn, Beauty Digital Marketing Strategist for Foundation, said: “The searches for these types of advent calendars are on the rise; this time last year, there were just 21k searches for the term ‘beauty advent calendars’, whereas this year, there’s already been 33k searches.
“We are also seeing the trend last longer – with searches picking up earlier in September and lasting longer into December. This is likely because brands are better stocked compared to previous years where they were known to sell out quick.
“I expect this trend to keep on growing, with major brands that are yet to launch their own calendar, to launch one either this year, or next.”
